Just Cause 4: Shark & Bark Vehicle Pack adds two specialized vehicles to the singleplayer action-adventure open world experience on PC. Players control Rico Rodriguez in the fictional nation of Sol铆s, where the core loop centers on traversal, combat, and region liberation against the Black Hand forces. The pack introduces the Thresher shark car and the 84 Sheepdog dog car as options for land and water movement.
Gameplay
The base game emphasizes third-person traversal through a grappling hook system that supports multiple tether functions, including retraction, balloon lifts, and boosters for manipulating objects and enemies. Players combine these tools with a wingsuit and parachute for aerial movement across varied biomes, while weather events such as tornadoes and thunderstorms influence navigation and combat. Weapons feature alternate fire modes, and supply drops allow on-demand access to gear. The Shark & Bark Vehicle Pack integrates directly into this system by providing the Thresher, an amphibious vehicle equipped with laser-targeting weaponry suited for assaults from water to shore. The 84 Sheepdog offers a distinct fur-covered design with built-in boost functionality for rapid escapes or repositioning during engagements with Black Hand units.
These vehicles expand options for approaching objectives in the open world. The Thresher supports combined land and sea routes, while the Sheepdog emphasizes quick bursts of speed on roads. Both fit the existing physics-driven interactions, where players tether objects or deploy environmental hazards during fights.
Game Modes
Just Cause 4 operates entirely in singleplayer. The primary structure involves liberating provinces through targeted missions that unlock rebel support and territory control. Additional activities include performing tracked stunts across wingsuit, speed, and vehicle categories to complete settlements. The Shark & Bark vehicles slot into these activities by offering new ways to traverse during liberation efforts or stunt challenges. No separate multiplayer or co-op modes exist.
Vehicle Features
The Thresher enables amphibious transitions and deploys laser weaponry for precision targeting in mixed environments. The 84 Sheepdog stands out with its appearance and includes a boost mechanic for accelerated movement and evasion. These additions align with the game's focus on creative destruction and vehicle-based play without altering core mechanics.
Is It Worth Playing?
The pack serves players who already own Just Cause 4 and seek additional vehicle variety for the open world activities. It released in 2019 as part of the game's DLC lineup, with the base title receiving mixed critical reception around a Metacritic score of 68. The vehicles provide lighthearted options for existing gameplay loops involving combat and traversal. Those interested in the series' emphasis on physics experimentation and region control may find the additions useful for variety during longer sessions. Availability remains through standard digital stores for the PC version.
