It's a real time astronomical simulation of stars and planets that updates to your position on the surface of the planet.
Flux Empyrean is a meditative, slow experience for people that enjoy challenging their intuition and itching their curiosity. The entire planet is open for you to explore.
Core Gameplay
Flux Empyrean is a first-person narrative exploration game focused on discovery, navigation, and rediscovering the past. Your knowledge about the world is your primary way of progression. There is no combat, waypoints, or skill trees - just your ship, your mind, and the Mirrored Sea.
Navigate using the stars: Use an in game star chart and compass to map your position and determine where to go next. As you learn how to read the sky above you, you'll find new and more efficient paths to sail.
Explore Freely:聽The ocean is open from the start. Sail to distant horizons and discover the unknown in whatever direction you wish. There is no set order of discovery, so go where your heart wills. The entire surface of the planet is open to you.
Solve Mysteries and Puzzles: Every location has secrets waiting to be found - if you know how to uncover them. Tackle challenges that require observation and logical deduction. Every location builds off each other, so discovering something at one location can help you at another.
Uncover Lost History: Everywhere you go, you'll uncover pieces of a larger narrative. You'll find conversation logs, letters, reports, and academic papers that clue you in to the truth. By putting them together, you'll discover smaller stories underneath the surface, and ultimately discover your final goal.
Catch Otherworldly Fish: Unusual, robotic lifeforms swim under the depths of the Mirrored Sea. Pass your time on the boat by catching them and filling out your collection.
Dynamic Space Simulation: The sky you see above you is physically modeled in real time. The movement of the stars tracks with your position on the planet, and the planets in the sky anchor points on the planet for your navigation.
The Beginning
You wake on the Mirrored Sea with no memory of who you are or how you got there. With only your ship and the instruments onboard, you sail into the unknown, seeking truth in a world that has forgotten who it was.
The World
The Mirrored Sea is a planet-spanning ocean filled with reflective, metallic liquid. Scattered across the ocean lie remnants of what came before: forgotten monuments, abandoned temples, lost libraries, solemn memorials, dormant stations and countless more lie untouched and dormant, waiting for their purpose to be uncovered. A story is etched into the world, forgotten, but not yet lost.
