Free of the Land is a tactical roguelike deckbuilder. You play as an exile, leading a small band in search of a new home. The trouble is, every patch of land is already claimed by monsters, critters, or a very, very angry forest. You win by building Presence through the Pledges you make and surviving until the land accepts you.
Tactical Roguelike
Every card you play shapes the board. Minions can be moved and positioned to fight, buildings stay put and lend support, and spells shift the odds. Where you play matters as much as what you play.
Surge and Survive
Spend energy to play cards. When you Surge, your minions and buildings act, then enemies strike back. Unused energy carries over, but Surging too many times costs Hope. Lose all Hope, and the journey ends.
Pledge System
Each run begins with a pledge, and you’ll take on more as you travel. Pledges are small goals that shape how you play. Completing them earns you Presence, the key to claiming a land. Some are simple, others risky, but they always change your approach to battles and deckbuilding.
Ways of a Hero
Each hero has their own way of surviving.
Vanguard rallies loyal minions.
Forager grows bizarre plants.
Architect builds constructs no one’s seen before (and honestly, there’s a reason for that).
Between battles, you'll fine-tune your deck, pledges and items, each tied to the hero you chose.
It’s tough being an exile. But with some clever spells, odd companions, unusual pledges and the occasional suspicious mushroom, you might just make it.
