Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER/EDDB) is Berlin鈥檚 main international airport, located in Sch枚nefeld about 18 km southeast of the city and serving carriers like easyJet, Eurowings, Ryanair, Condor and Sundair.
It replaced Tempelhof, Tegel and the old Sch枚nefeld airports, becoming the single commercial airport for a region of around six million people and ranking as Germany鈥檚 third busiest. The airport opened in October 2020 after years of delays caused by severe construction and management issues.
Its initial capacity was 46 million passengers per year across Terminals 1, 2 and 5, with planned expansion aiming for about 58 million by 2035. It mainly handles European routes with some intercontinental services.
