Just One More Fly is a first-person action indie casual game on PC that transforms the simple act of swatting flies into a focused hunt across everyday indoor spaces. Players search furnished rooms for elusive insects, line up precise strikes, and clear out stubborn groups while managing time and equipment choices. The core loop centers on spotting movement, getting close enough for a clean hit, and adapting tools to handle different fly behaviors without missing the ones that dart away at the last moment.
Gameplay
The experience places you directly in the role of a fly hunter moving through realistic interiors. You begin with a basic swatter and advance by earning money and stars from successful room clears. This progression unlocks stronger options across four tool families, each offering three equipment levels that improve range, power, or utility. Close-range aiming rewards steady positioning and quick reactions, while frantic buzzing or sudden splashes on screen signal particularly evasive targets that demand extra attention.
Supporting your direct attacks are four types of placeable traps, each serving distinct roles such as attracting flies, catching them passively, or altering their paths. Upgrades enhance these traps over time, allowing combinations like bait jars paired with scent candles to steer insects into kill zones. Different fly types exhibit unique movement patterns, forcing players to adjust tactics room by room rather than relying on a single approach. Career progress, unlocked equipment, and personal records save locally for continued play sessions.
Game Modes
Progression unfolds through a series of distinct locations that serve as individual hunting grounds. These include an apartment, a Dutch snack bar, a breakfast restaurant, a caf茅, an office, and a supermarket. Each location presents its own layout and hiding spots, encouraging thorough searches and repeated attempts to improve performance.
Three difficulty levels structure the challenge: Calm for relaxed sessions, Lively for moderate pressure, and Expert for demanding precision and speed. Star collection and personal best times track improvement across these settings. Missing a time goal does not end the round, so players can continue hunting until every fly is accounted for, supporting flexible pacing and record chasing without forced restarts.
Equipment and Traps
Building an effective arsenal involves balancing direct weapons with environmental support. Starting equipment focuses on simple swatting mechanics, while later unlocks introduce electric rackets for wider coverage, hand vacuums for suction-based captures, and flamethrowers for area denial. Trap placement adds strategic depth, with bait jars drawing flies, fly strips providing sticky catches, UV catchers offering light-based lures, and scent candles redirecting movement away from safe zones. Experimenting with combinations helps handle the flies that slip past initial attacks.
Is It Worth Playing?
Just One More Fly suits players who enjoy single-player casual action with a light competitive edge through time records and star progression. The first-person perspective and varied tool upgrades create a satisfying loop of observation, positioning, and execution that rewards attention to detail over complex systems. Locations and difficulty tiers provide clear structure for short or extended sessions, while the ability to finish rooms even after time limits encourages persistence without frustration. Those drawn to indie titles focused on precise mechanics and incremental equipment growth will find consistent engagement in clearing infestations across multiple environments.
