Delve into the Tomb of Vercilias as a bounty hunting adventurer in this old-school CRPG styled dungeon crawling rogue-lite. Your goal is to find the dark mage Vercilias and bring him to the king dead or alive. But you're not the first to go looking for Vercilias鈥攎any have come before you and none have succeeded.
Vercilias was once the trusted mage of the kingdom, using his magical talents to bring prosperity to all. But when it's found out that he is researching dark magic, the King orders Vercilias be brought to him to stand trial. Not wanting to lose his research or his life, Vercilias put a curse on his mage's tower to turn it into an ever shifting labyrinth to keep anyone from being able to navigate it and find him.
After months of sending countless soldiers into the cursed tower to bring Vercilias to justice, the King decided it wasn't worth losing more soldiers to the cursed tomb, and declared Vercilias to be dead within his own tower鈥攔enaming the tower to the Tomb of Vercilias. However, the king put out an open bounty on Vercilias' head for any daring adventurer brave enough to enter the tower and bring Vercilias out, either dead of alive.
Many adventurers have braved the tomb. Very few have come back out alive, but those that have returned with treasures, magical runes and mental scars that have made them never want to return to the tower again.
The Tomb of Vercilias features a randomly generating layout, giving you a fresh maze to navigate every time you enter.
You'll merge magical runes (D20s) together to create more powerful runes, and you'll then be able to use those runes in a spellbook to upgrade spells, or craft new spells of varying elements!
Combat is always a bit of a gamble鈥攗sing a deck of magical cards, tap into your spellbook's powers by drawing cards. The most cards you draw the more powerful attack will be! But be careful, if your hand is ever greater than 21, you'll bust, and the monster will attack you.
The Town just south of the Tomb of Vercilias is a safe place for you to buy and sell items, talk to the locals and maybe even get some information about the happenings inside the Tomb. Build a reputation with the towns people by listening to their struggles and offering to help where you can. Actions speak louder than words.聽
