Work From Dungeon is an indie idle RPG for PC that runs in a small, customizable window on your desktop. The mage Click and her team of monsters handle combat automatically while you focus on other tasks. Gold accumulates and the party levels up even when the window stays minimized or closed entirely.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on passive progression interrupted by brief moments of active play. Monsters continue fighting and collecting resources in the background. When you open the window again, any new recruits or rewards appear ready for inspection. Clicks pass through the overlay, so the game never blocks your other programs.
Collection and breeding form the main systems. There are 99 monsters spread across six elements: Fire, Water, Leaf, Thunder, Dark, and Dragon. Each element includes two bloodlines that progress from one-star to five-star rarity. Breeding combines two allies into a child that inherits traits, allowing players to create hybrids with skills from multiple elements or pursue exact pairings that produce legendary uniques and six apex monsters at the top of the tree. The Monster Book provides hints for undiscovered combinations.
Each element fills a distinct combat role. Fire deals burn damage, Leaf applies poison, Thunder chains attacks, Dark removes armor through curses, Dragon hits groups, and Water provides healing. Deployment choices alter the visual style of the window. Allies gain experience simply by participating in fights, and a Seed of Mastery can raise an individual level cap. Six rune types improve the entire team across attack, health, speed, experience gain, gold, and scouting. Random traits such as critical chance, slayer bonuses, or resistances can be passed down through breeding to refine specific monsters.
Game Modes
Progression moves through a series of distinct dungeons. The Starting Meadow leads into the Cracked Ruins, followed by the Dragon's Nest and the Crystal Cavern. Each area increases difficulty and introduces new enemies. Occasional bosses appear with time limits and unique mechanics, including the three-headed Tsuchinoko Hydra in the Dragon's Nest and the crystal-guarded Whorl in the Crystal Cavern. Later bosses such as the Frost Wyvern, Elder Drake, Asura Bone, and Leviathan each carry their own attack patterns and background music.
The Hidden Dungeon contains the Drake Zombie, an ancient skeletal dragon that offers a wish upon defeat. The Tower of Champions serves as a dedicated endgame challenge consisting of fifty floors populated exclusively by bosses. Clearing the main content unlocks Hard Mode, which raises enemy strength while increasing the chance that defeated foes will join the team.
Desktop Integration and Customization
The game is designed to remain visible yet unobtrusive. Players choose the window's corner position, size, and opacity. A wide layout option stretches the display along the bottom of the screen like a status bar. Calm mode mutes battle sounds and plays only ambient tracks. Seasonal particle effects appear automatically: spring petals, summer fireflies, autumn leaves, and winter snow. Click the mage can be dressed in several outfits including Valkyrie, Priest, Martial Artist, and Dragon Master, along with seven robe color options. The experience features pixel art, chiptune tracks unique to each dungeon and boss, and support for English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
Is It Worth Playing?
Work From Dungeon suits players who want a persistent monster-collecting experience without constant attention or push notifications. The breeding tree, element synergies, and trait inheritance reward experimentation over long periods, while the desktop overlay keeps the adventure visible during work or other activities. Those who enjoy idle progression paired with occasional strategic decisions about team composition and dungeon runs will find the systems engaging. The game launches on November 19, 2026, with no prior player reviews available. Its appeal rests on the depth of the 99-monster roster and the seamless integration of passive and active play.
