‘All the way there, and back’. A cab car (or control car, or driving trailer) transforms the operational capabilities of a loco-hauled passenger train by enabling it to behave like a multiple unit. Once the train reaches the terminus station, the is no need for the loco to change to the far end of the train, or to attach a different loco to the rear of the train – instead, the driver can simply move to the cab car and resume control of the train as it heads back in the other direction. This makes the cab car a valuable addition to loco-hauled services.
The BR 143+760 as recreated for Train Simulator Classic by developers VirtualRailroads allows you to carry out this type of passenger operation on the Bahnstrecke Leipzig – Dresden route. Along with the highly detailed BR143 loco, you can take the controls of the BR760, with its many authentic features including ZWS/ZDS, SiFa and PZB with O/M/U. Three Standard scenarios for the Bahnstrecke Leipzig – Dresden route are also included.
