Blendead is a multiplayer action game for PC that blends elements of deception and pursuit in short, intense rounds. Players either pose as ordinary NPCs in a crowd or hunt those who are hiding in plain sight, creating a tense cat-and-mouse experience suited to both casual sessions and more competitive play.
Gameplay
In each round players divide into Blenders and Hunters. Blenders must stand still or move exactly like the surrounding NPCs while avoiding any behavior that draws attention. Holding the same action for too long causes visible trembling that breaks the disguise. Hunters receive a limited supply of bullets and must identify the disguised players among the crowd. Shooting an actual Blender costs no ammunition, but firing at an innocent NPC triggers a two-bullet penalty. A thermometer indicator appears once per minute for fifteen seconds, displaying Hot, Warm, or Cold readings to show proximity to any Blenders. The round concludes when all Blenders are found, the Hunters exhaust their bullets, or the five-minute timer expires. Up to sixteen participants can join a single session.
Game Modes
The core experience revolves around the Hunt, a five-minute round that supports up to sixteen players. Blenders receive optional tasks that force them out of hiding for higher rewards, while safer play focuses on perfect NPC imitation. When a Blender is shot, that player immediately switches sides and joins the Hunters, turning former allies into targets. This betrayal mechanic keeps every round unpredictable and encourages quick adaptation. The overall score accumulates across rounds, and separate achievements track specific accomplishments such as flawless blends or efficient hunts.
Core Mechanics
Blenders cannot rely on static camping because prolonged repetition of any action triggers frantic shaking that stands out in a calm crowd. Hunters may fire freely at the air or objects without penalty, but each mistaken shot on an NPC reduces their remaining ammunition. The thermometer provides periodic location hints without revealing exact positions, forcing Hunters to combine visual observation with the timed clues. Tasks assigned to Blenders add risk-reward layers that can elevate scores but increase exposure. Everything feeds into a persistent high score that carries across sessions, rewarding consistent performance whether players choose aggressive or stealthy approaches.
Is It Worth Playing?
Blendead suits players who enjoy short, replayable multiplayer sessions built around observation and quick thinking rather than complex progression systems. The two-person development team created the title in their spare time after believing the core idea was unique, then refined it with their own twist despite similar concepts existing elsewhere. Rounds last just five minutes, making the game accessible for quick matches with friends or solo queueing. Those who like deception-focused action and the satisfaction of going unnoticed will find the blend-and-hunt loop engaging, while the betrayal twist adds replay value without requiring long commitments. The casual and indie nature keeps the focus on straightforward fun rather than heavy customization or ongoing seasonal content.
