Chained Runes delivers indie strategy through deckbuilding with runes, where you position them in chains for successive effects, deploy one-time abilities per turn, and trigger passive talents on conditions. Analyze foes, spot synergies, and customize your codex by selecting three arcanes from five focused on offense, survival, wounds, aura, or runes. Strategic battles demand reflection, anticipation, and analysis to optimize turns amid special encounters like chests and tough foes. Fixed difficulty pushes mastery without power gains from losses, suiting players who relish deep tactical planning and deck optimization in turn-based clashes.

• Runes: the game's main mechanic, place them in your chain to play their effects successively.
  
• Abilities: allow you to play an effect instantly, available only 1x per turn.
  
• Talents: Passives that play effects when their trigger's condition occurs.

Choose 3 Arcanes from the 5 available.
Each Arcane specializes in one aspect of the battle system (Offensiveness, Survival, Wounds, Aura, Runes) and has its own set of associated runes, abilities and talents.
Mix and match as you want to play the way that suits you best.

Scour the lair's 3 floors, encountering a variety of wacky Gormnoqs room after room.
Be on the lookout for special encounters scattered around each floor. Chests, tougher enemies and much more.
