Dicellion is a strategy indie casual puzzle game for PC centered on rolling and matching dice across a grid. Players tumble dice into position, adjust their top faces through rolls, and form groups of matching numbers to clear them from the board while building larger combinations for bigger scores.
Gameplay
The core loop involves pushing dice across a glassy grid so they tumble and reveal new numbers on top. Matching two 2s, three 3s, four 4s, or up to six 6s causes the group to sink into the board. These groups linger briefly, allowing extra matching dice to be added before they vanish and fuse into a higher score. Ones never contribute to scoring and must be rolled aside to keep the grid manageable. Groups require a short delay before disappearing, which opens opportunities for chain reactions and multipliers by sustaining clears in sequence.
Each push changes the die face, so the needed number often sits just a roll or two away. Inverted dice add another layer: collecting three of them triggers a bonus effect. The bomb clears the entire board, freeze pauses incoming dice, joker doubles points temporarily, and sweep removes the most common die type present.
Game Modes
Start mode presents five stages, each with a distinct visual theme and soundtrack. Completing a checklist of required groups in a stage unlocks its theme and music for continued play. Unlimited mode focuses on pure score attack as dice continue to appear and the board fills, with levels increasing over time to test how long a clear grid can be maintained. Multiplayer supports local two-player sessions that require two controllers, either sharing a single board for direct interference or racing on separate boards. Matches run for three, five, or ten minutes against a friend or a bot set to easy, normal, or difficult difficulty.
Themes and Progression
Six themes appear in total, each featuring unique dice designs and accompanying tracks. One theme remains hidden until all 25 in-game achievements are earned. High-score tables track performance across every match type, encouraging repeated attempts at higher totals or longer survival runs.
Is It Worth Playing?
Dicellion suits players who enjoy quick-to-learn puzzle mechanics with room for extended mastery through chain building and precise die control. The mix of single-player stage challenges, endless score runs, and competitive local matches provides variety for both solo sessions and shared play. Its inspiration from classic dice-tumbling titles shows in the tight feedback loop of rolling, matching, and fusing, making it a strong fit for those seeking focused strategy without complex systems. Availability on PC keeps the experience accessible for short or extended sessions depending on the chosen mode.
