Draemony is a dark fantasy action RPG set in a world shaped by blood, loot, and the mysterious Echo that whispers beneath the surface. Available on PC in Early Access, the game blends fast-paced combat with deep character progression and exploration across varied environments. Players create and refine their hero through extensive customization options before venturing out to battle monster hordes and pursue powerful equipment that elevates a survivor into something legendary.
Gameplay
Combat revolves around cutting through waves of enemies while managing resources and positioning. Eight distinct classes provide different approaches: Skeleton, Storm, Hunter, Mage, Vampire, Demon, Warrior, and Barbarian. Each class features its own ultimate ability, preferred weapons, and core play style that influences how fights unfold. A massive passive tree containing more than one thousand nodes supports long-term growth, with dedicated branches for each class that allow players to specialize further.
Active skills sit in a separate tree per class. Players unlock abilities, increase their ranks, and select upgrades along with talents that alter their function. Gear customization deepens through rune sockets that accept specific inserts, while a Specialization choice locks in a broader path for the build. Exploration takes players through a four-act campaign that spans locations including Amber Vale, Jata铆ra, and Goi芒nthar. The journey crosses ruins, swamps, deserts, frozen forests, and the wound left by the Echo itself. Boss encounters include multiple phases and distinct mechanics that demand adaptation.
Loot forms the backbone of progression. Items range from magic to rare and unique tiers, each carrying its own set of affixes and level requirements. A forge and crafting bench turn raw materials into improved equipment, supported by dedicated crafting currency. Ore veins scattered throughout the world can be mined and smelted into ingots for additional crafting options.
Game Modes
The core experience centers on the single-player campaign that guides players through the four acts and their associated regions. Endgame content expands this foundation through the Codex of Worlds, an atlas of Open Maps that scale from tier 1 to tier 16 and present an endless frontier for repeated runs. Abyssal Rifts appear as dynamic events that tear open the ground and release additional monsters along with abyssal ore and deeper exploration opportunities.
Blood Vigils create contained challenges where players accept pacts, endure successive waves of enemies, and manage Devotion as a resource. The highest difficulty comes from forging a Lair Key to confront the Xinoqs, a fused angel and demon that serves as the game's most demanding encounter. Online co-op supports up to six players through Steam integration, with each participant receiving independent loot drops and the ability to revive allies at their location of defeat.
Character Progression and Customization
Progression systems reward experimentation across multiple layers. The large passive tree encourages players to test different node combinations while class-specific branches keep builds distinct. Skill trees allow granular control over ability power and utility through ranking and talent selection. Runes and Specializations add further layers that can shift a build from defensive to aggressive or from single-target focused to area-clearing without requiring an entirely new character.
Mining and crafting integrate directly into the loop. Gathering ore during normal exploration feeds into ingot production, which then supports the creation of new items or upgrades at the bench and forge. This loop keeps players engaged with the world even after completing the main campaign acts.
Is It Worth Playing?
Draemony suits players who enjoy loot-driven action RPGs with extensive buildcrafting and the option for cooperative play. The combination of a large passive tree, per-class skill systems, and rune-based gear customization offers substantial depth for those who like refining characters over many hours. Co-op up to six players adds a social dimension while preserving individual loot ownership, making it accessible for both solo runs and group sessions.
As an Early Access title, the game currently includes the full four-act campaign, multiple endgame systems such as the Codex of Worlds and Blood Vigils, and the Xinoqs encounter. Ongoing development may expand these features further. Fans of dark fantasy settings, monster-slaying combat, and long-term character growth will find the core loop rewarding, particularly if they value systems that reward careful planning and repeated playthroughs.
