Flat out. Then flat on the road.
Hold My Helmet is a comedy road racing game about Dave, one brave and slightly unlucky rider, and 6 km of closed public roads on the Isle of Wham. Stone walls, hedges, village streets, humpback bridges and the odd sheep fly past at up to 340 km/h. Hold your line and you set a record. Miss it and Dave goes everywhere at once.
Speed you can feel
Lean into the bends, tuck in on the straights, pop a wheelie for an extra push and take off over the bridge humps.
Low cameras, speed lines and motion blur, the whoosh of every wall and lamp post, engine doppler and echo off the stone walls.
Eight cameras, from the classic chase cam to the helmet, the fuel tank and a close-up of Dave's face behind the windscreen.
Race the pack or race the clock
Line up on the grid with 15 rivals. Slipstream them, rub elbows and pass them in the bends.
One rider's mistake is everyone's problem: wrecked bikes stay on the road and pile-ups happen.
Prefer it quiet? Time trial gives you the whole course to yourself: 13 sectors with split times and personal records.
Coming later: multiplayer with friends
Multiplayer is in development. Line up on the same grid as your friends, race each other or team up against the rest of the field, and argue afterwards about who caused the pile-up. More details soon.
Crashes are the best part
Clip a wall, a hedge, a house or a hay bale and Dave either breaks apart into pieces, often helmet first, or flies off in one floppy piece.
Every crash makes the front page of The Wham Gazette, with one of dozens of headlines.
Remount and keep going. Dave comes back a little more patched up every time: plasters, tape, bandages, a cast.
Sheep have right of way.
Watch the film
After the run, THE FILM cuts your lap together like a TV broadcast: helicopter shots, roadside cameras and slow-motion replays of your best crashes.
