It's 1997, you鈥檝e just been assigned to your first real case as a young detective, and it鈥檚 a murder case, what could possibly go wrong?
While you鈥檙e interrogating one of the main suspects of this murder case, you鈥檙e all of a sudden transported to the suspect鈥檚 frozen memory that they were just describing to you! How did this happen?!
Well however it did, with this newfound ability you鈥檙e able to view and experience the murder from their perspectives, being able to physically enter and explore the frozen memories of the people you interact with. This will be fun!
Physically explore the memories of the suspects to solve this case like no one has before. Interrogate the main suspects and get them talking to unlock their memories. Once unlocked, you can explore these memories from within and travel between them to piece together what happened.
Discover what happened before and after the murder. Sadly, due to the mental state of the suspects, some parts of the memories have been suppressed while some other memories have entirely been forgotten/suppressed. But I鈥檓 sure you can make due with the memories that have stayed intact.
Once you鈥檝e explored a memory, you can always go back to your notebook to revisit the memories as often as you鈥檇 need!
While exploring you鈥檒l find various different clues.聽After finding certain clues, confront the suspects with them and find out more information and maybe even an extra memory to explore.
Of course, you wouldn鈥檛 be a real detective without a clue board but since you鈥檙e away from office, your imagination will have to do. Clues will be stored in your clue board once found. Here you visualize and organize the clues you鈥檝e already found to help solve this mystery!
The only way this case can truly be solved is when you鈥檝e figured out:
Who is the murderer?
What is the murderweapon?
What is their motive?
Once you think you鈥檝e figured out the case, enter your findings in the notebook. Afterwards you鈥檙e given a score on what you鈥檝e correctly solved, there are multiple different endings based on your score. But don鈥檛 worry, if you didn鈥檛 solve everything correctly, you can always restart the game and try again until you do get it right!
This game was made by 6 students from the bachelor Digital Arts & Entertainment at the Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen in Belgium in a couple of months as their final year鈥檚 group project assignment.
The music was composed by Flo Delvaux, student at the Royal Conservatoire of Ghent. The narrative was written by Jeff De Bock, student at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound.
